Bottom of Portal Trail:

This departure location is for those riding Mag-7 and exiting the Portal Trail and Poison Spider Mesa Trail.

There is a large pullout on the riverside of the road at the bottom of the Portal Trail. Parking your car here is highly recommended as it eliminates an additional 7-9 miles (11-14 km) of riding back to Moab. If you are riding Mag-7, please park your vehicle here.

During peak season, this area can fill up quickly. Additional roadside parking is available above and below the main pullout.

Important Parking Instructions:

  • We load directly from this pullout. If you park elsewhere, you must still meet the shuttle here.
  • DO NOT PARK IN THE JAYCEE CAMPGROUND. Parking there will cause you to miss the shuttle.

Directions to Bottom of Portal Trail:

  1. From Moab, head north on HWY 191.
  2. Make a left onto HWY 279 (Potash Road).
  3. Drive approximately 3.5 miles. The roadside parking lot will be on the riverside of the road.
  4. If you are traveling East on Potash Road, the parking area is about 0.25 miles past the Jaycee Campground.

Note: This location CANNOT be found on Trailforks, Google, or Apple Maps. There isn’t any cell service at this loaction.

Shuttle Boarding:

Please be ready to board the shuttle 15 minutes prior to departure time to allow for bike loading.
